Models are used extensively in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, equity research, asset management, and credit to make critical business decisions.
In partnership with CFA Institute, Financial Modeling Institute developed the Practical Skills Module on Financial Modeling which equips Level I candidates with the necessary knowledge to make better informed financial decisions. The content in our PSM is similar to the FMI Foundations program.
What is the FMI Foundations program?
It is a 15-hour, self-study program that introduces finance and accounting students to key concepts and best practices. It is validated through a 1-hour multiple-choice exam. Required grade is 75%. Multiple attempts are allowed.
Candidates who pass earn a personalized digital badge from FMI which can easily be posted on a student CV or LinkedIn.
FMI Foundations program is a first step towards pursuing the industry-accredited Advanced Financial Modeler (AFM) program.
FMI Foundations program is used in over 90 universities globally. It aligns well in courses such as Corporate Finance, Portfolio Management, Financial Engineering, Equities, Valuation, Introduction to Finance, Financial Statement Analysis, Financial Accounting, and any Student Investment Fund.
