FMI POLICY: INVALID EXAM RESULTS

Invalid Exam Results: AFM & CFM

If a candidate’s exam attempt does not comply with the FMI’s Exam Rules and expectations, the exam attempt will be considered invalid, and the exam submission may not proceed to grading.

During the FMI’s post exam validation processes, if a candidate is found to have violated the exam rules an invalid exam investigation may commence. This is including, but is not limited to:

  • late file submissions
  • communications with other people during the exam
  • opening other websites or computer programs that are not allowed
  • opening other Excel files during the exam
  • disconnecting from the proctoring software without getting in touch with the FMI Exam Day Team
  • the use of prohibited pre-built macros during the exam

If a candidate does not submit their exam at the 4 hour mark, either by uploading their file through the FMI Exam Platform, their exam may be classified as invalid at the discretion of FMI. FMI strictly forbids candidates from tampering and/or making changes to their exam files after the allocated exam time has passed. Testing accommodations candidates who are allotted alternative time must also adhere to the submission requirements stipulated by FMI.

An exam submission will be accepted by FMI only if a candidate has submitted their exam via the FMI Exam Platform or has clearly communicated with an FMI Exam Day Team Member during the exam and attached documented proof (such as screenshots) of the issues that prevented them from submitting the file on the FMI Exam Platform. The inability to adhere to the exam rules will result in an Invalid exam result.

Invalid Exam Results are communicated to candidates once all Exam Results have been released and cannot be challenged for reconsideration. Should a candidate be issued an Invalid Exam Result by FMI, the candidate forfeits their exam attempt and must re-enroll in order to retake the exam.
