Tim D’Souza has over 25 years of finance, consulting and leadership experience, helping a wide range of organizations improve what they do. He has worked at IBM’s Americas head office and Worldwide Services head office, helping leaders improve strategy and execution. He has worked in Private Equity, assisting in the identification, evaluation and negotiation of acquisitions and divestitures for the American Industrial Acquisition Corporation. He has assisted NGOs in Canada and Africa – helping enhance strategy, financing and operations. At present, Tim works at Sun Life Financial, as a Director of Finance. He currently oversees planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting on more than $6B of expenses. His prior roles at Sun Life include work in strategic planning, special projects and financial operations management. Across his career, Tim has had to create, amend and deploy complicated financial models.
Tim holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto, an M.A. from the University of Guelph and an M.B.A from Yale University. He is also a designated accountant and holds the CPA, CMA credential. Tim serves as Adjunct Faculty at a number of different post-secondary institutions – – including Nipissing University, Algonquin College, the Insurance Institute of Canada and CPA Ontario. In addition to his work with the FMI, Tim serves on several Boards including Canadian Feed the Children, the Oakville North-Burlington Conservative Party Association and the Toronto Chapter of the Financial Planning and Analysis Board.
