As a holder of an FMI certification, you understand the value of continued learning and keeping up to date in the field of financial modeling. Therefore, all Certification Holders need to complete a minimum of 20 Continued Professional Development (CPD) hours each membership year. 

What qualifies?

Your CPD activities can include a combination of the following:


  • Conferences or seminars
  • Competitions
  • Courses
  • Tertiary (university) courses
  • In-house training
  • Written technical publications


  • Technical reading
  • Meet-Ups
  • Mentoring
  • Hands-on financial modeling

What’s not included?

Activities that do not directly improve your professional knowledge in financial modeling.

Recording CPD activities:

It is important that you maintain an annual log to record your CPD hours as you will need to submit your records as part of an FMI review.

When does my membership year start?

A Certification Holder’s membership year starts on 1 July to 30 June.
